Will Sterling is a New York–based writer, director, producer, and actor. His debut feature, A Cell Phone Movie, screened on the 2025 festival circuit, earning a Best Debut Feature nomination at Raindance in London and multiple awards, including Best Feature, Audience Choice, and Best Actor for Comedy. His follow-up feature, That Friend, co-written, co-directed, and co-produced with Alex Wall and Ryan Tillotson and starring Josh Brener, Billie Lourd, and Harvey Guillén, is heading to festivals in 2026.

As an actor, his credits include Criminal Minds, Pam & Tommy, Black-ish, American Crime Story, This Is Us, Pink Skies Ahead, and Everything’s Gonna Be Okay.

His debut novel, Fame by Misadventure, won the 2024 PenCraft Seasonal Book Award and the National Indie Excellence Award for Fiction.

With a background in stand-up comedy and improv, his work often blends humor with darker themes of love, sex, faith, fear, and mortality.

He prefers dogs to people.
